Here’s what it looks like with no candle and the lid on.

Nice and bright, and her candle doesn’t go out when you put the lid on (cause lots of air can get in)

I could have carved everything a bit deeper to make it light up better, but I’m pretty happy with this for a first-ever pumpkin carving!

Slicing out and digging into the face to make it deeper (and thus brighter)

I would hold it up under a light above my stove to get a preview of how the light was working. This was originally where I was going to stop.
