Why don't online shopping sites allow me to enter my measurements then only show me things that are available and fit?

Turns out that Banana Republic here in the US do it also if you dig far enough. You can set a bunch of size preferences as part of a search. I wish you could just set it as a preference and then browse the entire site though — there’s just no point showing me anything else because it’s not going to fit!
